I'm Kate and I live in Manchester, UK. I have always been passionate about art and have finished an art school growing up. However an art career wasn't a promising choice back then hence I persuaded career in science. I have obtained a PhD in Regenerative medicine where my work focused on correlative advanced imaging techniques and bone regeneration. During my research fellowship position I realised that I miss art and whilst on maternity leave I have decided to start to build my collection which you can see here. I absolutely love doing this and it is such a big part of me that I have decided to do what I think I was always meant to. I left the science and started my art career.

I focus on wildlife and with the use of mixed media I try to highlight different textures of the animals. I stride to find beauty even in the most odd looking creatures as I think the world is full of hidden wonders.

Since becoming full time artist I have won of "Out of the shed" competition and my artwork is exhibited for the next year at the Great Northern Warehouse in Manchester. I am keen to see where my art career takes me next so feel free to follow me on instagram where I post regular updates on life as an artist @k___max.art.
